Laval University - Admissions 

Admission to Laval University is always competitive. A modest 5% of the total applicants finally make it to the halls of Laval. Besides consistently promising academic scorecards, international students also need SAT, ACT, and IELTS or TOEFL scores to apply to this University. 

UG Admission

  • For admission to Laval University’s undergraduate courses, international students need to fulfill different language proficiency requirements based on the department to which they want to apply. 
  • For some limited programs, a French language proficiency score is necessary, while for some, IB scores are enough to get enrolled. So, students have to check the website carefully to understand the domain-specific requirements. 
  • Students applying to undergraduate courses offered by Laval University must show a diploma/certificate showing they have completed 13 years of education.  
  • Students seeking admission to Laval University UG courses in English need an IELTS score of at least 6.5. For TOEFL, the score should be at least 86. For courses in French, French Baccalaureate scores are necessary. 

PG Admissions

  • SOP, LOR, and Essays are unnecessary unless a specific department asks for them.
  • Laval University opens its admission process twice yearly - during winter and fall. For admission in the ‘Fall’ session, the process begins in February, and for the ‘Winter’ session, it starts in September.
